PART I: Effective Analysis Motivation
In our professional lives, we have participated in numerous projects and worked alongside a wide range of analysts—from the truly excellent to the rather weak. This has given us a clear view of what works well in analysis, but we have also witnessed many antipatterns that prevent analysts from being as efficient as they could be. In this section, we will summarize the current state of the analysis discipline and examine the blockers that keep it from moving forward in many organizations. We will also look at how a reluctance to innovate and a lack of automation have left analysis feeling heavy-footed and stagnant compared to the fast-paced world of software development.
